At Belmont Saints, we’re passionate about building confident players, great teammates and a strong community—both on and off the court. No matter your experience level, there’s a home for you at Belmont Saints.

Why Join the Basketball Community in Carina?

Carina is home to one of Brisbane’s strongest basketball communities, but not every basketball club offers the same experience. At Belmont Saints, we’re more than just a place to play—we’re a community. As a proud member club of the Southern Districts Basketball Association (SDBAL), we provide players with the opportunity to enjoy local competition while developing both on and off the court.

Our focus is on creating a positive, inclusive environment where every player feels valued, regardless of their skill level. We believe basketball is about more than wins and losses. By investing in player and coach development, we help build confidence, teamwork, resilience and respect alongside fundamental basketball skills.

100% Volunteer Run
Belmont Saints is proudly run entirely by volunteers. Every registration fee and fundraiser is reinvested back into the club, helping us provide quality coaching, equipment, player development opportunities and an outstanding basketball experience for our members.

Committed to a Safe Environment
The wellbeing of our players is our highest priority. Every Belmont Saints coach holds a valid Blue Card, and we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and family-friendly environment where players can learn, develop and enjoy the game with confidence.

A Local Club with History

Established in the late 1990s, Belmont Saints was built on the idea that a club should be more than just a place to play a game; it should be a community. Over the decades, we have grown into a staple of the Carina sporting landscape, providing an enduring basketball experience for thousands of players.

While we have grown significantly, our core mission remains the same: to provide a supportive environment where “true growth is powered by hard work.”. When you pull on a Belmont Saints jersey, you are joining a tenacious community with a rich history of camaraderie and competition.

Junior Basketball Programs (U8 – U20)

Our junior program is the core of our Carina basketball community. We field teams for boys and girls ranging from Under 8s (mixed) through to Under 20s.

We cater to all skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced—providing clear pathways to regional, state, and national selection for those who want to take their game further.

The "Wolfpack" Initiative for Schools

One of the biggest challenges for parents and students is wanting to play club basketball but fearing they will be split up from their school friends. We solved this with the Wolfpack Basketball initiative.

This sister brand allows groups of school students to enter the Junior Club Basketball Competitions as a pre-formed team. It creates a mechanism to manage waitlists and allows school-based teams to compete without overcrowding the main Belmont Saints roster. It’s the perfect way for school friends to “join the pack” and compete together.

Senior & Social Basketball Leagues

Basketball isn’t just for the kids. Our adult competitions run year-round and are designed for men and women seeking social connection, fitness, or competitive play.

  • Men’s Leagues: We offer A, B, and C Grades, as well as Vets A & B for experienced players who still love the game.
  • Ladies’ Leagues: We run A and B Grade competitions.

A Smarter Membership Model

We understand that fumbling for cash on game night is a hassle. That’s why we have adopted a modern “gym membership” style model. For approximately $16.00 per week via direct debit, your fees cover everything: nomination fees, forfeit fees, and game fees. This subscription pricing allows you to focus on the game, not the admin.

Professional Coaching & Development

We don’t just develop players; we develop people. We explicitly differentiate ourselves through a commitment to high-quality coaching that connects training directly to game day.

The Consistent Coaching Model

In many clubs, the person running the mid-week training session is different from the person on the sidelines on Saturday. At Belmont Saints, we aim for the same individual coach to run both the weekly training session and the game day coaching. This drives team cohesion and ensures that what is learned in practice is applied in the game.

Brisbane Bullets Partnership

We are proud to be the inaugural “Community Club Partner” of the Brisbane Bullets. This exclusive partnership grants our volunteer coaches access to professional accreditation, clinics, and support from professional game development staff.

Volunteer With Us: Join the Team Behind the Team

We are a 100% volunteer-run organisation, and we are always looking for passionate people to join our community. You don’t need to be an ex-pro to make a difference.

Pathways for Aspiring Coaches

Are you an aspiring coach seeking mentorship? Or a parent wanting to help out? We offer structured development for volunteers, ranging from Level 0 (Community Coach) to Level 4 (Master Coach). Supported by internal development programs and our Brisbane Bullets partnership, we help you gain professional accreditation while giving back to the local Carina community.
